6 Bad Habits That Could Get You FIRED From Work

With the rate of joblessness in the country, no nightmare is as scary as losing one’s job, no matter how bad or good the job is there is always that scare of getting fired and the looming threat of getting fired. At times. you can’t blame the employer because it might be your inherent traits that could get you fired.
Below are five behavioural issues that could make you lose your job.
Chronic lying and deceptive behaviour: “A little white lie here and there can help foster healthy workplace relationships, avoid lies and deceptive behaviour that can make the company lose faith in you, like, covering for an errant co worker, fudging your reimbursement slips or stealing office supplies as getting caught in a big lie can cost you your reputation and your chances at growth, especially since there is so much automation at work that can track your movements”.

Laid back approach: “A laid back approach is great in life; it gives you time to stop and appreciate the beauty of the world around but failing to do the right thing at the right time can get not only you into trouble but also your co-workers, if your job expects you to be up and about, ditch your laid back attitude at home when you leave for work and if you think that’s against your personality, find a job where your lax attitude will be appreciated (if there is such a job)”.
Anger management: “It’s difficult to be pleasant to everyone at work, especially if you work around dim-witted, slow or difficult people and hard-to-please bosses but if your co-workers feel jittery and get that ‘walk-on-egg-shells’ feeling around you, you could have a problem, your outburst could be at the cost of someone else’s embarrassment”.

Loose lips or gossiping: “Don’t get me wrong, who doesn’t love a juicy piece of news about a co-worker’s escapades but workplace gossips can be a double-edged sword, it could help in bonding with your co-workers, but leaking valuable information or maligning the reputation of your boss can cost you more than just your job; it could dent your reputation”.
Chronic late coming: “When it comes to business, time is money so constantly making excuses for your tardy behaviour may not be appreciated at the workplace, especially because your company pays you for your time”.
Problems with authority figures: “We get it; you have a lot of confidence in your abilities and wouldn’t take suggestions or orders from anyone, to be fair, a lot of people acknowledge that they have problems with authority figures, but there is no reason why anyone at work should tolerate it, going from job to job just because you don’t like your boss, can take a toll on your professional life and if it is something you can’t avoid, channel your hatred for authority figures and start something on your own”. Be your own boss
